Joyce Mary Wedge

The death occurred at her home in Miminegash on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, of Joyce Mary Wedge, aged 91. Born in Miminegash on July 2, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Winnifred (Thibodeau) Gallant.

Joyce spent her younger years fishing lobster, raking Irish moss, and raising her five children alongside her husband. She was a hard worker. She lived a life marked by faith and devotion to God. In her older years, she preferred a quieter life: collecting sea glass on Miminegash Beach, watching soap operas and game shows, collecting trinkets, and spending time with her family.

Lovingly remembered by her children Chris, Robbie (Christine), Andy (Jill), Wilma (Paul) and Joanie (Paul); her grandchildren Kaitlin, Brody, Keshia, Alicia, Parker, Christopher, Ashley, Alysen and Abbygayle; and her great-grandchildren Presley, Casey, Emmett, Layla, Claire, Wesley, Wyatt, Liam and Jace.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband Joseph Wedge and her parents.

Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, St. Louis.

Visitation on Friday, October 30, from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral, with 10:45 to 11:00 a.m. for family only.

Funeral will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Interment to follow in the Palmer Road cemetery.
